Exclusive onyx surfaces at Koliqi Marble, backlit islands, bar counters, bathroom vanities, and feature walls. White, honey, green, blue, and red varieties. Speak to a specialist.

Onyx is not a material for people who want to blend in. It forms in the mineral-rich caverns and spring systems of the earth, a translucent, banded chalcedony with colouring and movement that no other stone comes close to matching. White shot through with caramel. Deep green with white swirls. Amber. Blue. Red. Each slab is completely singular, and all of them have one quality that sets onyx apart from everything else we sell: you can backlight it.

When light passes through a backlit onyx surface, a kitchen island, a bar counter, a bathroom vanity panel, the effect is transformative. The stone glows from within, revealing depth and movement that isn’t visible in ordinary lighting. It’s the kind of thing that genuinely stops people in their tracks.

Being Realistic About Onyx

Onyx is softer than granite, quartzite, or quartz. It needs regular sealing, careful handling, and some thought about where it goes. For a heavily used daily prep surface in a busy kitchen, it may not be the right choice. For a kitchen island where the primary function is also a centrepiece, a bar counter, a bathroom vanity, or a feature wall, it’s unrivalled. We’re always happy to talk through the right application for your specific project.

The Varieties We Carry

Our range covers White Onyx, Honey Onyx, Green Onyx, Blue Onyx, Red Onyx, Pink Onyx, Cappuccino Onyx, and Spider Onyx. Because onyx slabs vary enormously from block to block, we’d always recommend viewing the actual material before committing, ideally at our showroom where you can see it backlit.

Care

Seal regularly with a quality impregnating sealer. Clean with pH-neutral products only, acidic cleaners will etch the surface. Wipe spills promptly. Treat it with the care its rarity deserves.
