Large-format porcelain worktops at Koliqi Marble, fired at 1,200°C+, non-porous, acid-resistant, UV-stable. No sealing. Indoor and outdoor use. Free quote and fitting service.

Porcelain worktops have had a quiet few years becoming one of the most practical choices in UK kitchen design. Fired at temperatures between 1,200°C and 1,400°C, the material achieves a density and near-zero porosity that most natural stones only approach after treatment. It doesn’t need sealing. It resists acids. It’s UV stable for outdoor use. And it comes in a range of designs that, frankly, look very convincing if you’re after the appearance of marble or stone without the maintenance.

We’d rather be straight with you: some clients will always prefer the genuine article. Natural stone has a character, a variation, a depth that porcelain reproduces very well but doesn’t quite match. If that matters to you, look at our marble or granite pages. If you want something that performs without asking anything of you and still looks exceptional, porcelain is worth taking seriously.

Benefits of Porcelain Worktops

The no-sealing point is significant. It’s also acid-resistant, which matters in kitchens, no etching from lemon juice or vinegar, no reaction to common cleaning products, and no fading in outdoor settings. The large-format slabs available in porcelain mean fewer joins, which makes installation cleaner and kitchen surfaces easier to wipe down.

Design Range

White, cream, warm grey, charcoal, and rich black grounds. Marble effects, Calacatta, Statuario, Arabescato, Carrara, that are genuinely difficult to distinguish from the real thing at a glance. Concrete effects. Stone textures. Wood effects. Finishes span polished high gloss through honed matte to satin, silk, and structured textures. Available in 6mm, 12mm, and 20mm, thinner formats suit splashbacks and overlays, 20mm is the standard for worktop applications.

Non-porous: no sealing, permanent stain resistance from day one

Acid-resistant: no etching from kitchen spills

Heat-resistant: direct pan contact without damage

UV stable: outdoor kitchens with no fading or discolouration

Low maintenance: warm water and mild detergent, that’s it

Large format: fewer joins, cleaner overall aesthetic

Keeping It Clean

Warm water and a mild pH-neutral detergent handles daily cleaning. Anything stubborn, reach for a gentle non-abrasive cleaner. That’s it, no specialist products, no periodic treatment. We still recommend a chopping board for food prep, though it’s really for the benefit of your knives rather than the worktop.
